How does Goose authenticate with Redbark?

Goose authenticates with a Redbark API key used as a bearer token, created at Settings → API Keys.

What can the AI actually see?

Read-only access to your connected accounts, balances and transactions (and, on the Professional plan, brokerage holdings and trades). It can never move money or change your accounts.

Does Redbark store the data Goose reads?

No. Each request is proxied live from your bank through the Redbark MCP server. Redbark stores consent records, encrypted tokens and minimal account metadata — never transaction amounts, descriptions or balances.

Which Redbark plan do I need for MCP access?

MCP access requires a Developer or Professional plan. Brokerage tools (holdings and trades) additionally require the Professional plan.

Why does Goose use an API key instead of OAuth?

Goose’s remote extensions authenticate with a request header. Use a Redbark API key (rbk_live_…) as an Authorization: Bearer token. API-key clients are granted read access to your banking tools.

Where do I create the API key?

In the Redbark app under Settings → API Keys. Treat it like a password — anyone with the key has read-only access to your connected accounts until you revoke it.

Connect your bank to Redbark

Sign up for Redbark and link your Australian bank accounts through CDR Open Banking. You consent at your bank — Redbark never sees your login.

Create a Redbark API key

In Redbark, go to Settings → API Keys and create a key. Goose authenticates as a bearer token rather than the interactive OAuth flow.

Add a remote extension

Run goose configure, choose “Add Extension” → “Remote Extension (Streaming HTTP)”, enter the MCP URL, and add an Authorization: Bearer header with your key.
