How does Windsurf authenticate with Redbark?

Windsurf authorises with OAuth 2.1 in the browser — you approve read-only access once, and there is no API key to paste.

What can the AI actually see?

Read-only access to your connected accounts, balances and transactions (and, on the Professional plan, brokerage holdings and trades). It can never move money or change your accounts.

Does Redbark store the data Windsurf reads?

No. Each request is proxied live from your bank through the Redbark MCP server. Redbark stores consent records, encrypted tokens and minimal account metadata — never transaction amounts, descriptions or balances.

Which Redbark plan do I need for MCP access?

MCP access requires a Developer or Professional plan. Brokerage tools (holdings and trades) additionally require the Professional plan.

Why serverUrl instead of url?

Windsurf uses the serverUrl key for remote (HTTP/SSE) MCP servers in mcp_config.json. Point it at the Redbark MCP endpoint and refresh the Cascade MCP panel.

Is the connection read-only?

Yes. Redbark requests read-only access under the CDR. Cascade can read transactions and balances but can never move money or change your accounts.

Refresh and authorise

In Windsurf, open the Cascade MCP panel and refresh. Click the redbark server to authorise with OAuth 2.1 for read-only access.
