How does Claude Desktop authenticate with Redbark?

Claude Desktop authorises with OAuth 2.1 in the browser — you approve read-only access once, and there is no API key to paste.

What can the AI actually see?

Read-only access to your connected accounts, balances and transactions (and, on the Professional plan, brokerage holdings and trades). It can never move money or change your accounts.

Does Redbark store the data Claude Desktop reads?

No. Each request is proxied live from your bank through the Redbark MCP server. Redbark stores consent records, encrypted tokens and minimal account metadata — never transaction amounts, descriptions or balances.

Which Redbark plan do I need for MCP access?

MCP access requires a Developer or Professional plan. Brokerage tools (holdings and trades) additionally require the Professional plan.

Where do I add the connector in Claude Desktop?

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the Redbark MCP URL and Claude will walk you through the OAuth consent in your browser.

Can Claude move money or change my accounts?

No. The Redbark connection is read-only by design. Claude can read transactions and balances through the MCP tools and nothing else.

Connect your bank to Redbark

Sign up for Redbark and link your Australian bank accounts through CDR Open Banking. You consent at your bank — Redbark never sees your login.

Open Connectors

In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors and choose “Add custom connector”.

Add the Redbark MCP server

Paste the MCP server URL below, then click Add. Claude opens a browser window for you to authorise with OAuth 2.1.
