How does Claude Code authenticate with Redbark?

Claude Code authorises with OAuth 2.1 in the browser — you approve read-only access once, and there is no API key to paste.

What can the AI actually see?

Read-only access to your connected accounts, balances and transactions (and, on the Professional plan, brokerage holdings and trades). It can never move money or change your accounts.

Does Redbark store the data Claude Code reads?

No. Each request is proxied live from your bank through the Redbark MCP server. Redbark stores consent records, encrypted tokens and minimal account metadata — never transaction amounts, descriptions or balances.

Which Redbark plan do I need for MCP access?

MCP access requires a Developer or Professional plan. Brokerage tools (holdings and trades) additionally require the Professional plan.

Do I need an API key for Claude Code?

No. Claude Code uses OAuth 2.1 with Dynamic Client Registration, so it registers and authorises itself in the browser. There is no key to copy or rotate.

Does the connection work with ephemeral callback ports?

Yes. Redbark matches loopback redirect URIs (localhost / 127.0.0.1) port-agnostically per RFC 8252, so Claude Code’s temporary callback port is accepted.
