How does Cline authenticate with Redbark?

Cline authorises with OAuth 2.1 in the browser — you approve read-only access once, and there is no API key to paste.

What can the AI actually see?

Read-only access to your connected accounts, balances and transactions (and, on the Professional plan, brokerage holdings and trades). It can never move money or change your accounts.

Does Redbark store the data Cline reads?

No. Each request is proxied live from your bank through the Redbark MCP server. Redbark stores consent records, encrypted tokens and minimal account metadata — never transaction amounts, descriptions or balances.

Which Redbark plan do I need for MCP access?

MCP access requires a Developer or Professional plan. Brokerage tools (holdings and trades) additionally require the Professional plan.

Does Cline support remote MCP servers?

Yes. Add Redbark as a remote server (streamableHttp) in the MCP Servers panel or cline_mcp_settings.json. Cline handles the OAuth 2.1 sign-in for you.

Is the connection read-only?

Yes. Redbark requests read-only CDR access, so Cline can read transactions and balances but can never move money.

Open MCP Servers

In Cline, open the MCP Servers panel and choose Remote Servers (or edit cline_mcp_settings.json directly) with the entry below.

Authorise with OAuth

Cline opens the browser to authorise the redbark server with OAuth 2.1. Approve read-only access.
